Croatia info

Croatia is a country not only rich in cultural heritage, it is a country with unique natural phenomenon of breathtaking beauty: the Plitvice Lakes, Kornati, Brijuni archipelago, Mount Velebit, the largest Adriatic peninsula, Istria, only some of them. Croatia has 8 national parks and 10 nature parks, and ecological Croatia is the cleanest country in the Mediterranean region.

In short lines, this is a country rich in culture that knew how to connect their own traditions with modern lifestyles and invites you to meet all of that. Croatia is a paradise for tourists, sailors, fishermen and nature explorers, but also for the gourmands, who will be delighted by the rich cuisine.

In the central part of the Croatian Adriatic, at the confluence of Sibenik and Zadar town, there is a separate and amazing group of islands called Kornati.

Due to the exceptional beauty of its landscape, interesting geomorphology, indented coastline, and especially the rich biodiversity of the marine ecosystem in 1980. greater part of the Kornati archipelago was declared as a national park.

Today Kornati National Park occupies an area of 220 km2 and includes 89 islands, islets and reefs and about 238 km of coastline. Despite this relatively large number of islands, the continental part of the park makes less than 1 / 4 the total area, while the rest is the marine ecosystem.

National park was proclaimed in 1985. vol. and the seventh national park in Croatian.
It is located entirely within the area of Sibenik-Knin County and encompasses an area of 109 km2 along the Krka River, two kilometers downriver from Knin to Skradin and lower to Čikola.
The river length is about 72.5 kilometers which makes it 22nd river due to length in Croatia.
Krka River starts in foot of the Dinara mountains, 3.5 km northeast of Knin and 22 meters below waterfall Topoljski,Veliki Buk or Krčić waterfall.

Length of the freshwater river is 49, the brackish section is 23.5 km. Important tributaries of the river are Krčić, Kosovčica, Orašnica, Butišnica and Čikola with Vrba.

With its seven travertine waterfalls and a total drop of 242 meters, the Krka is a natural phenomenon.

Island of Brač belongs to a group of central islands and it is the largest among the Dalmatian islands. It is about 40 km and an average width of 10-12 km, the total area of 395 km2.
From the mainland is distanced with Brac channel (maximum depth 78 m) 6-13 km. To the west it separates from the island of Solta with so called Split door, and to the south of the island of Hvar by the Hvar Channel (depth 91 m). In the immediate vicinity of the land is the largest city on the eastern Adriatic coast, Split.

Welcome to Hvar, an ancient city rich in history. Many will say that it is a real fairytale town - with its architecture, beautiful nature and mild climate.

When you add the natural charms of high quality accommodation and Mediterranean warmth and kindness of Hvar it becomes an ideal holiday destination for couples and families.

Medjugorje is one of the most famous Catholic shrines in the world, located near the town of Čitluk, in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Accommodates approximately 4,300 residents, and it  became famous for the apparitions of the Virgin Mary, which first started in 1981. year. Since then this place, after Sarajevo, is one of the most visited tourist centers in BiH (about a million Catholics from all around the world).

In contrast to the Marian shrine in french Lourdes, which because of its six million tourists a year became a true believer commercial haven for local businessmen, Međugorje still retains its original charm, where pilgrims find peace in faith. Center of the Shrine of the Queen of Peace( how is officially called a shrine of Medjugorje) is the Holy Church of St. James in the center.

While walking throught the old Diocletian’s palace,Split residents will be full of pride to say that "Split is most beautiful city in the world and beyond" and, please, please.... do not argue with them because the millennial Split cheerful spirit that you will soon discover, will convince you in it! This ever young city with about 200 000 residents (who give it its warm Mediterranean temper), has lived its urban rhythm for 1700 years, with its heart in the Diocletian’s Palace and a soul that welcomes with open arms.

Since then the life of the city under UNESCO protection and registered in the register of World Cultural Heritage has been writing the history of this unique metropolis of Croatian south.
